Why would my dentist office submit the same claim multiple times to my dental insurance company? What happened was, my dentist said I had to have a $2,000 treatment plan. Moving in 1.5 months and getting a car - Should i buy before or after for car insurance? I'm planning to buy a car but I'm moving to a new place in 1.5-2 months. Question is, should I buy the car while i'm still at my current address, or wait til I move to the new place? My concern is the car insurance. Can I sue a health insurance company? I have a Blue Cross PPO through a Cobra company called Conexis. I have the family plan, which covers myself, my wife and my child. I have paid each bill very timely and I am in good status until 7/31/07. Yet I am literally pulling my hair out and stressing since we keep getting EOB's / Doctor's bills saying we are not covered since our insurance is terminated (which, obviously can't be right). I went to a pharmacy today to get a prescription filled and they said it was terminated. I have an online screen-shot of my Cobra status that says I am paid and covered. Ballpark estimate of disability insurance premiums? My husband's employer does not offer disability insurance and we are looking at getting a simple disability plan from our private insurer State Farm. I would just like to know roughly how much premiums are for this kind of dis. insurance. I've looked online, but you have to enter all kinds of personal information before any company (whether insurance or quote finder) will send you any info. Seems like putting a big sign on my email and screaming "SPAM ME!" So just curious what other people pay for this. My husband is 28, non-smoking, not overweight, and is healthy. He's a high school teacher.

Short term dental insurance for root canal? Not to sound like a scammer, but my girlfriend is in a pretty bad situation. She is a graduate student, and has limited medical coverage with absolutely no dental. She had not visited a dentist in two years, and recently had a visit that resulted in a recommendation for a root canal and crown. Looking at fee structures, it would appear that the whole procedure could easily cost $1500+. As a grad student, she obviously was not prepared for this. I've looked online at "discount" plans, and see ones that (for ~$5-10/mo) give you about a 20% price break. Still not that desirable ... Is there any "easy" out in this situation? Without spending thousands of dollars? Thanks in advance!

Cobra insurance coverage? Has anyone had bad experience with this plan? I paid three months online, printed out the paid invoice and the reference paid number. That was back at the first of October. NOW they tell me I'm not covered, that they never received the payment. Last Friday, I faxed them the bank statement showing it deducted from my account and where it went. NOW they tell me it only got to the accountants MONDAY, and they have two to three business days to review. THEIR idea of two to three business days is this next Friday! I have filed a complaint with the state insurance board. I have a strong feeling that this is part of their business plan, to deny, deny, deny, just to frustrate people into paying their bills, even though I have paid over six thousand dollars to this company, and all I want is the prescription that will cost them $34. The "representative" told me I had done everything right, yet it will be a week to get this resolved. You are right, it is UHCDirect is the company I am using. Fortunately, the insurance liaison for the organization I used to work for is going "to bat" for me on this. My new job/insurance starts Jan 1, I am glad to not have to deal with these unethical people any longer than that.

Car Insurance Question!? I currently am paying 231.10 dollars for car insurance. This policy has only one vehicle, which is a 1997 Dodge Caravan. I am planning to add another vehicle to the policy which is a 2003 Honda Civic Sedan. I am wondering how much more I would have to pay if I were to add on this vehicle. Can someone give me an estimated amount?? ( Using GEICO as my Auto Insurance ) And also, I went on the Geico site and I saw that you can add a vehicle to your policy just online. After I'm done with all the registration, will they just send the insurance card straight to my home with just a simple online registration??

I need help in making Health Insurance decisions.... let me explain:? My husband and I are both disabled. We both receive Medicare Parts A & B. Husband took disability retirement 8 years ago from the VA (Federal Government), and through them, we pay a monthly premium for Aetna health insurance, which helps to cover my expensive prescriptions. We thought that Aetna would pick up the leftover costs of whatever Medicare did not cover. WRONG. The Aetna policy we have is not a Medicare Supplement plan; just a plain vanilla healthcare HMO. I've been trying to do some research, but it is driving me crazy trying to decipher what the Federal Government offers its disability-retirement employees versus what Medicare offers, including its Plan D for prescriptions. I've already used some of the online decision-making tools, but I'm still not getting a clear picture of what's out there and how we would save any $$.There are seminars all over the county put on by local BC/BS Medicare Advantage plans, but they are all trying to sell something.Whom can I trust to help?

As a first time home buyer I am a little bit confused about a few things and I thought I just ask here :) One of the mortgages we looked at (online, from our CU) listed a "Hazard Insurance Monthly" in the "Prepaids & Reserves" section (which is part of the closing cost). - I am aware of the need of Homeowners Insurance, but does that include or exclude Hazard Insurance? - The monthly rate for Hazard Insurance was listed as $1,900. That seemed extremely high to me, so my question is: What is an average amount for Hazard Insurance (or Homeowners Insurance in general)? FYI: The home we are looking at is located in the SF Bay Area and will have a value of approx. $700,000. Any comment will be appreciated...

Employee share for health insurance? I'm considering a job change to small company ( approximately 130 employees). Cost for health insurance would be about $770 a month for a wife and husband, that's after the employer share of 80%. We have really good insurance now, so we aren't really sure of what's a "normal" cost. Even with the increased cost, I would still be bringing home more money than now and the cost of living in the area of the new job is significantly less. Working as an independant insurance agent? I am 44 years old with 25 years of sales experience...currently manage a used car dealership. I would like to spend more time with my sons and am considering a career change. I know that insurance agents make commissions on sales, and earn monthly residuals thereafter. Can anyone direct me towards a company that offers a "real" opportunity to an experienced salesperson. I do not have my license, but have checked out some online "pre-licensing" sights....and it doesn't seem to be any trouble to quickly obtain. I may be able to retain my affiliation with my employer and have access to a database of roughly 2500 customers...each of whom have given us 5 family friends/relatives for references. I have found one opportunity with the National Motor Club which does not require licensing. I am particularly interested in mortgage life/layoff protection....and final expense plans.

Should parents help out with a vehicle/insurance/gas? I am 16, and do not have a drivers license yet (will in Dec). I work at home doing work for clients online, and help out with my dad's self-run internet software business. Right now, I am required to pay for my vehicle, gas, and insurance. My parents say this is so I will value driving and my vehicle before. I am financially responsible, and work hard for my money. I paid the $310 for driving school from money I made off of a website I did for a client. When I can get a license, I plan to get a vehicle, and will have about $8000 in money that I've earned from online business. I swim competitively, and will be driving about 20 miles every day to get to the pool, then 20mi to pick up my bro from tennis the other way. I am still required to pay for it all. Is there a way I can talk to my parents to help me out with a vehicle, insurance, or gas? Is there a reason they should help out? It seems most of my friends get some of it or all, but I don't want to use that excuse. Thanks!
