Insurance costs.? I'm starting some kids day camps in a small Canadian town and I was wondering if you could tell me how much it would cost to get liability etc insurance. I'm renting a place and the insurance is covered so thats no worrie. Also, do you think it would be acceptable to just have the kids parents give permission for the kids to go swimming in the (shallow) lake near the camp location, or would I still need a lifeguard. I'm one step away from being a lifeguard and I'm more than able to care for them should the need arise, but with my job and all, it's just been too busy to finish it all off. I have my first aid and cpr though. So, ya, insurance costs and the swimming thing. Also, how about foodsafe certificate? I will be serving food to the kids as a snack, do I need to be certified? thanks
Can I reimburse myself health insurance costs from my company? We used to have individual health insurance, and I would pay for it out of my own company (an S Corp). When we got insurance through my husband's employer, I stopped reimbursing myself. He is paid for by the company, and then it costs extra to add myself and our child. I was just going to deduct health insurance premiums on our Sch A, but we don't have enough other medical expenses to meet the limit. Is it ligit to go ahead and reimburse myself the amount that it cost for the health insurance? Then it would be a business expense. Thanks.

Car insurance costs more than car is worth? One of my friends works a minimum wage job, and his car insurance for one year costs more than he paid for his 87 Mazda truck. He paid $1300 for the truck and his insurance is $1800 per year. Between insurance and gas, he is working just to drive the truck, he told me he is just going to drop the insurance on the truck, because the truck is a piece of crap and is not worth $1800 for just basic coverage. I tried to talk him out of it, but he said he is not paying that price to insure a piece of junk.

Here in NY State, I was lucky enough to be eligible for Child Health Care Plus for my son. I am a single parent. I paid a small premium each month. I had insurance through my jobs that paid in full for single insurance but it cost a fortune for family coverage. California employers and health insurance costs, are we getting ripped off? My employer recently stated that there was going to be a 27% increase in our health insurance premiums. When I call the insurance company, they denied any increase. Our local agent/broker refused to discuss it with me. When the deductions started coming out of my check it was an even 40% increase. Is anyone SICK about health insurance costs? I had great health insurance, but was fired from my job because I had a baby. My choices were: COBRA or another policy. I plan on having another baby next year. There is NO insurance that will cover pregnancy, which was a $40,000 procedure the last time I gave birth. YES, they say they cover pregnancy, but there is a big BUT: They don't cover it within the first 2 years of your subscription. I took the cobra. It is fantastic, and covers my pregnancy...BUT BUT BUT.....it costs $400 per month. This is absolutely horrendous. It should be illegal to refuse to cover a woman's pregnancy, especially if she is paying for her insurance. Of course, all these super-saver insurance deals have come up, but it doesn't save anything. There are $4,000 deductibles for families. How does that save money, when they already have to pay a monthly premium? My health insurance (for me alone...not my husband or daughter) is almost HALF my income. Something is seriously wrong. I have BCBS, and have been checking BCBS rates for non-cobra coverage, and the ones that DO cover pregnancy have a 2 year waiting period....no exceptions. Wow...we have a good discussion here! Your opinion as to why insurance costs (medical) are so high? What do you think can be done? I've worked in insurance & the medical field & the fraud that goes on is a huge cause of high ins costs. More should be done to crack down on the people & institutions committing the fraud. In the hospital I worked at, during a surgery case you maybe used two strips of elastoplast to hold a dressing on. The patient is charged for the whole role. This was also the case with regular tape. My friend had a C-section & had to pay it all for lack of ins. She went over the bill & got $700 taken off it. They had charged her for a certain medication 3 x a day & she only took 2 pills. They charged her for sitz baths for her episiotomy, which she never had because she had a c-section. She found a few other discrepancies also. If you don't see your bill, your ins co may be being charged for things you didn't even receive. People who milk dbl and workers comp claims are ridiculous. They don't show up for exams causing more paperwork, etc., all costing money.
Who should bear the brunt of health insurance costs? Employers or taxpayers? Those people who work jobs with no benefits probably get health insurance through the taxpayer with programs like Medi-Cal and such. Someone has to pay the costs. And it's unrealistic to expect the worker to pay since he/she is not making enough to afford the high costs of health care. And before you say, "they should go to college and get a better job" remember that if everyone was able to do that, you yourself would be making much less money since the competition for your own job would be higher.
Am I paying too much in Title Insurance Costs - Kansas location? I have recently sold my house and closing is near. The title company was selected by the agent. The title company wants me (the seller) to pay $850 for a "Owner's title policy" and $150 in closing costs. They buyer has to pay $225 for a "Title Policy". I assume the buyer's policy is the "Lender title policy". I understand this buyer/seller split is normal for Kansas. However, The $850 seems high to me when there have been several title searches on this property already with refinancing. Is there anyway to determine how these rates compare to what other title companies would charge. When people mention health care ,welfare , tax increases ,and rising insurance costs why include me .? I have a good relationship with Roger my doctor and he was happy to deliver my children .I only had to pay a hospital bill for the delivery room and nurses and some medication . It was less then 1500 dollars a child . Roger would come by the house each month and check up on Susan my wife and reassure her everything was fine .I have some money I invested that is ear marked for a rainy day ,around 250,000 dollars ,more then enough to cover any medical problems and it continues to grow each year . I can not understand why people pay out a 100 dollars a week for years and get nothing back . Start saving this money early and in 20 years as you begin to need medical care you will have plenty .Now I do have a policy with a 100,000 dollar deductible that insures all my families medical expenses .$145.00 a month is all this costs but I do have to pay all the minor medical bills myself and for medication . Why is everyone complaining about the high cost of insurance . Just leave me out of it Steve if you look closer you will see I have a policy to cover all costs above 100,000 dollars no limit . This runs $145.00 a month .

I am thinking of getting my driver's license in about seven months (when i turn 18), but i am a bit discouraged by the quotes for car insurance that i have been given. I was told that car insurance for new driver's is about $3500 per year (and this is with a 40% discount for maintaining a 4.0 GPA). If i am put on my parent's insurance plan, it will still cost me $1100 per year (i have to make up the difference caused by adding me to their policy). If she will make the prices for health insurance as low as she says she will, why is she going to mandate all Americans to insure themselves (even the low-income workers who can't possibly contend with a new health insurance bill every month)? Motorbike Insurance. At what point does acceptable costs become insurance write off? I've recently had a little accident on my bike and it's currently in the garage getting an insurance quote and repairs arranged. Now, I've asked this question to my insurer and they 'aren't allowed to answer that' which is immensely helpful of them. My bike is insured for £2600, the purchase value. Repair costs as quoted by the garage come to just under £1500. Will this result in a write off from the insurance company? Previous experience leads me to believe it won't, because the only other time I lost a bike like this it was over two thirds of the insured value for repairs, but I'd just like to see if anyone can give me a definitive answer. Tango... that's what I thought, too, right up until the point where my old bike, valued and insured for £4500, attracted repair costs of three thousand pounds (which I nearly choked at in the first place) and the insurance company actually wrote it off and removed the bike from the garage before I'd even received the information that the insurance cheque would be on it's way.

My wife is having our first baby, I have a question about insurance/hospital costs? I have Bluecross of California, this is our insurance info: $300 deductible 25% co-insurance $2,500 out of pocket maximum (stop loss) So if my wife has a hypothetical delivery with a cost of $12,000 then we would pay as follows, right? $3,000 because we pay 25% of the $12,000 bill -$500 because our out of pocket maximum is $2,500 and the bill was $3,000 + $300 deductible (or is the deductible included in the out of pocket max?) = $2,800 is the maximum we would pay for the delivery Are my calculations correct? I want to make sure I set aside enough money from our savings account for the baby’s birth. I am unsure how insurance works. Thanks!!
Hospital Check up costs without insurance? Does anyone have an idea what it costs for a hospital check up/physical when you dont have insurance? I'm sure its not cheap. But I think I might need to go the doctor, but dont want to see the bill if I do. Thanks
Dentists and insurance costs? Ok, I have a horrable fear of the dentist and havent been in three years. Now I know I NEED to go but I have a panic attack just calling around for one. I have heard that some of them can administer a gas that calms you ar knocks you out before the dental work. Does anyone know if its covered under any insuraces?
