Individual short term disability insurance for maternity leave? LOTS OF ANSWERS PLEASE!?
My employer does not offer short term disability insurance. Anybody know of good insurance companies that offer INDIVIDUAL short term disability insurance? I want to purchase own, personal disability insurance before i have my baby in April 2008.

- AFLAK offers disability insurance but they wont cover an existing condition. You needed to buy it before you got pregnant.
- I got life insurance and I got a quote for short term disability and they do not cover pregnancy. I head AFLAC is a good company. But most companies, wouldn't give your disability insurance because you have a medical conditional already..pregnancy. So when you do find a company, make sure you tell them you are pregnant. good luck.
- My sister used AFLAC and it was a lot of help! You should be able to get that! Best of luck!
- Aflac is excellent!!!! Unfortunately, there is not an insurance company that will cover a pre-existing condition (you're already pregnant!). Still you may want to look into it for other reasons, IE. injuries, surgery, and hospitalization. I have had Aflac for about ten years now and I used it when I was pregnant with my second child (she's 8). It covers 6 weeks of maternity leave and only 60% of your salary, but thats better than having no income at all in your time of need. I suggest that you start saving now for all of the little things that are coming along with your new bundle of joy. Congratulations and good luck on the search for short term disability insurance.
- i would say ask rufus the blue doofus roof roof
