Volvo- insurance costs and maintenance?

I'm thinking of buying a used Volvo. Anyone know anything about maintenance costs or the insurance costs?

  1. on insurance, it depends on your age, driving records and such, usually its cheaper than most other makes. But maintenance, it also depends on whcih year and model of your vehicle, i would say anything older than a 95 its not reliable.
  2. You can look up new and used car reliability information on autos.msn.com for free. I've enclosed a link to the entire new Volvo line, but you can also look up used models. For insurance, try Geico, Progressive, Nationwide, whatever your favorite auto insurance provider is, and they'll be able to give you a quote based on your driving record, and the model of Swedish automobile you are thinking of buying.
  3. If the Volvo you are considering comes with a warranty, then your "good" for a while. If not, try to find a good Volvo mechanic in your area as dealers charge a lot. To insurance: since Volvo is known for it's safety, you ought to get a pretty good deal.
