When people mention health care ,welfare , tax increases ,and rising insurance costs why include me .?
I have a good relationship with Roger my doctor and he was happy to deliver my children .I only had to pay a hospital bill for the delivery room and nurses and some medication . It was less then 1500 dollars a child . Roger would come by the house each month and check up on Susan my wife and reassure her everything was fine .I have some money I invested that is ear marked for a rainy day ,around 250,000 dollars ,more then enough to cover any medical problems and it continues to grow each year . I can not understand why people pay out a 100 dollars a week for years and get nothing back . Start saving this money early and in 20 years as you begin to need medical care you will have plenty .Now I do have a policy with a 100,000 dollar deductible that insures all my families medical expenses .$145.00 a month is all this costs but I do have to pay all the minor medical bills myself and for medication . Why is everyone complaining about the high cost of insurance . Just leave me out of it Steve if you look closer you will see I have a policy to cover all costs above 100,000 dollars no limit . This runs $145.00 a month .

- You have a quarter of a million bucks on the account? Sure, you can damn well pay
- Okay. I hope Roger never messes up. Of course you realize that 46,000,000 millions are uninsured, for various reasons. I doubt anyone really thinks about it in the above manner, by the way. Our opposition to nationalized medicine has nothing to do with being unconcerned about the uninsured. But nice stereotyping.
- I hate to tell you this, but $250,000 is not nearly enough to deal with a severe medical crisis.
- ... uh... how many Americans have access to $250,000? maybe 15 percent? you're have no idea how 75 percent of America lives... the median pay is around $25,000... that's 50 PERCENT OF THE U.S. THAT MAKE LESS THAN THAT... and if you get really sick in you're early 20s... your plan just ruined that persons life... you seem to be a gambling man... I always find it funny how the weatlhy just think that everyone has more money than they need and they never understand why people have problems... I don't see how anyone can be that naive to the world around them?
- steve is right... 250k isn't a guarantee. seen how much chemo is? or a catastrophic traffic accident? this is the whole problem. we have made a system where you can get fantastic care if you can pay for it, and everyone else who can't is screwed. you've got a good start there, but don't consider yourself safe by any means.
