It is commonly assumed that to deliver a baby it will be in a hospital.Or to be more precise, a lot of people think that when you have a baby that you have to use medicine. In this piece we are going to try to shatter some of those assumptions. We are going to offer alternatives that might be better.
Of course these observations are going to be coming from the viewpoint of my experience running a San Diego licensed midwife service. If you aren’t knowledgeable about midwives, they are women who are there to assist in the delivery process for women.Usually all the time without needing to use medicines in a homebirth.
So why do some women choose this method? For the many women that go with this method and understand it, it is because of several reasons.
First thing to consider is when no medicine is used, it usually makes the labor and delivery happen a lot quicker.A lot of women don’t even know that using medicine actually causes the labor to slow down.Women always use it because they are told it helps with the pain, but in reality it makes the pain happen longer. There are many certified midwives in San Diego who can show you proof of that.
Second, the use of the natural method and sometimes through waterbirth actually helps soothe and relax the bodies during delivery. This produces a delivery with less pain and makes having the delivery occur much faster. I have seen it as a homebirth midwife San Diego.
Those are a couple of the reasons that women choose a homebirth as the method to deliver. So even without the use of medicine and although there are no doctors, this method has been proven safe. When the delivery is in the home, it helps foster a more private and personal environment.Rather than when you are in a hospital where there will be a lot of people who poke and prod during the labor part.So with those reasons in mind, many women are going with a homebirth. It is a dignified and safe way and a process that is natural.

One of the most precious times for a woman’s life is pregnancy.A lot of women really want to have kids.It is in the time of the pregnancy that those desires come to reality.
During that pregnancy a lot of choices need to be made. One of those choices is how to deliver the baby. Sounds strange to say it is a choice but it is. A lot of women usually go with using medicine to help deliver a baby. But there is a strong movement of women who make the choice of going natural. That means no medicine to aid in delivery. I have seen this from first hand experience as a San Diego midwife. It is from that experience that I want to share some benefits.
Now why are some women choosing non medical delivery.A few reasons. First of all most women are realizing using medicine actually slows down the pregnancy. When you are in pain and want to deliver as fast as possible, medicine defeats the purpose.A lot of women are now starting to understand. What a lot of women fail to understand is that they are able to do it in that fashion. If they choose to do it that way they can seek out a midwife. In my part of the country there are quite a few midwives in San Diego.
A midwife is able to help a woman gently deliver. They could choose a waterbirth.Waterbirth is a way to delivery that uses water to ease the pain and ease the delivery.
Another thing is if a woman decides, a midwife can also help in a homebirth as well. Once again you can find a homebirth midwife in San Diego if you look.
The benefits of doing it at home is a relaxed and a less stressful environment. These two benefits makes a natural delivery inviting. If you are having a baby, it can be a choice that you could want to have.

Why you should choose a waterbirth delivery

The birthing of a baby is one of the most cherished moments of a woman’s life. The happiness of being able to deliver a new life is like nothing else. Although it comes with great pain, most women will agree it is worth it.
As a San Diego midwife I would like to share with you a method that you might not be aware of. It is called waterbirth.
Waterbirth has been described as one of the gentlest ofmethods of deliveries. It requires the use of a heatedwater bath or a pool.A few woman will just use the water for the pain of the labor part. This is done because the water that is heated is very pain relieving. It is relaxing to the tissues.
Other women will also delivery the baby through it.They remain in the water through the whole delivery.Even till the placenta is delivered all the way through.
The whole procedure is usually overseen by a person called a midwife. If you are in San Diego there are plenty of midwives San Diego. You will want one that is very experienced.
Why do quite a few women pick this way of delivering over the hosptial method? As described earlier, delivery and the labor part is extremely painful.A majority of women will use the drugs to try and stop the pain. But for quite a few women they do not want to introduce drugs into their body in fear of harming the baby. Using a waterbirth method helps with the pain. Because of the
heated water it soothes the tissues and helps with the pain.
Most women will have this procedure usually done naturally. They won’t ask or use any drugs to help lessen the pain of labor and delivery. Often times this actually helps the labor happen faster.Because when you use the drugs it can really slow down the labor.
It is actually a very safe alternative of delivery. For some women who are wanting to have their baby naturally this might be a choice to go with. I have seen many happy deliveries as a San Diego licensed midwife. All it takes for a woman is to research and see
how safe it is.

How to have a natural birth
Posted in: insurance articles Tags: homebirth, midwife, midwifery, midwives, waterbirth
One of the effects that is sad due to our modern day and time in medicine is labor and delivery are pretty much medical procedures.
That might seem foreign to some people because most people already think of delivery as being a medical event. But that is the problem. It isn’t a medical event. It is an event that can be kept natural and as private as possible through alternatives. Women
should be made known to the other alternatives.
I would like to present one of those main alternatives from the perspective of a San Diego midwife.
That main alternate way is by having a homebirth midwife assisty you during your labor and delivery. This practice is known as midwifery and there are plenty of midwives San Diego.
As cesareans and induction rates soar in hospitals, it has turned the joyous event of a delivery into an negative experience.
That is one of the primary reasons for the surge in women asking for more natural deliveries through a certified or licensed midwife.
Labor and delivery don’t necessarily have to include drugs, procedures that are invasive, constant probing of areas that are private, etc. It can be done safely and effectively in a home environment through that homebirth method or even a waterbirth San Diego method.
It’s definitely an industry that is regulated highly. You are able to know all about a midwife’s experience and skill if you are considering hiring them.
But getting over that stigma of not having a baby in a hospital takes education. But through experience and statistics most women can see that a lot of times having a baby in a hospital negatively effects the process. From drugs that slow down the pregnancy, or speed up the pregnancy. To having to be put through a c-section.Hopefully women can see the comparisons and the contrast and see the success of using a midwife.
So for those women who want to try and keep the delivery of the baby a joyous occasion, using a midwife might be something they should look into.
With the dawn of the internet age, being able to find information about the natural process is as simple as doing a search on the internet.
There they should be able to find helpful information of the process to help them fully understand. They can view any safety concerns and how it is handled. And most importantly they are able to witness the keeping of the delivery of a child a monumental occasion that is kept private and is still a happy event.

Midwifery and Midwives Explained
Posted in: insurance articles Tags: homebirth, midwife, midwifery, midwives, waterbirth
Pregnancy and delivery; a source of joy and pain for the woman.Obviously joy is involved with the new baby, but if you ask most woman, they will also describe it was a source of unspeakable pain.
Well because of the pain that woman go through, there are two different schools of thought on how labor and delivery should happen. I am going to offer some perspective on one particular school of thought that I have gained first hand experience with by being a homebirth midwife San Diego.
There is the medical model for delivery which is associated with drugs to kill the pain, and sometimes cesarean to complete the delivery.
While there is a lesser known model, not as widely accepted, for those that have experienced it and believe in it, they consider it a safer alternative for the woman.
That model is called the midwifery model. That model is the exact opposite of the medical model which is usually used. Where the medical model relies heavily on medicine, hence “medical”, midwifery relies on the natural.Midwifery philosphy believes that pregnancy, labor, and delivery should happen as naturally as possible because it is a natural process.
This model is a profession practiced by midwives. Midwives San Diego are generally woman, who attend the birth, often times at the mother’s home. This midwife would then assist the woman in trying to get through labor as naturally as possible without medicine.
Contrary to popular belief, the non-use of medicine actually allows the labor to happen much faster because most pain killers actually slows the labor down.
The midwife as a profession does have a regulatory board that licenses, certifies, and oversees the individual.
Although usually not a nurse or doctor, a midwife can be a nurse as well.
Even though they are not a doctor or nurse, they do carry with them some medical equipment, such as resuscitation devices and suturing equipment.
So this is what a midwife is and what midwifery is in regards to pregnancy and delivery.
Their goals are to allow the birth and delivery to happen as naturally as possible. This reduces the likelihood of a c-section.Does not subject you to hospital procedures that are invasive such as episiotomys.Less medical intrusion will be used such as drugs to speed up or slow the pregnancy or the breaking of the water. And the best part of all that a woman will love, generally labor happens much quicker naturally.
Hopefully this article sheds some light on the benefits of midwifery and having a midwife for your pregnancy. At the very minimum, maybe it gives you some other options to think about and look into. Remember this is first hand knowledge from a San Diego midwife.
